When arriving
at Malaga airport, most visitors head straight for Costa del Sol
central and forget that Malaga the city even exists!
It's a city
with a thriving port and traffic clogged streets but there is
another side to Malaga waiting to be discovered by every visitor |

Malaga Airport is 8 kilometres west of the city of Malaga and is
main flight path for million people arriving on the Costa del Sol
each year. The airport is next to the main A7 coast road that links
to the AP7 Autopista del Sol motorway for Torremolinos, Benalmadena,
Fuengirola and Marbella and Gibraltar to the west and Malaga, Nerja,
Granada the East.
To go to and from Malaga has been made a
lot easier in the last few years with the opening of new motorways
and will soon be even easier when the extension of the N340 / A7
motorway that will pass near the park and run all the way to Malaga
cutting journey times to near the one and a half hour mark.

There is an historic side too,
with a fortress that dates back to 1065
Nearby there is also a castle that
was rebuilt by the Moors in the 14th century and is now a
traditional Parador hotel |
